1, 2 and here comes 3#

So we now have another hurricane coming towards us again. This is absurd. I'm so sick of hurricanes now. We've only been able to have 3 weeks of school, and now it looks as though we will be missing more days of an already screwed up semester. Stetson is closed until further notice and last time that was 2 weeks. Lets hope its not the same with Jeanne.

In other news, I finally got a new car. It' a 2002 Nissan Sentra with only 17k miles. I'm so happy to have a car, and a nice car at that.

I also think I just got a new job. I'm going to be working for an agency called Project Hope which is funded by fema. Basically we go out to storm battered and disaster areas and offer relief. I'm really looking forward to this new job because I get to help out those who are in need because of these devastating hurricanes. The pay is also really good, $15/hr and I get reimbursed for mileage. So overall, this past week was a super week for me.

Last night Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell came to Stetson. It was a blast.

Dawn and I had this great night the other night with our turtles. We spent three hours changing tanks and trying to set up the new tank. After two hours, one trip to walmart, and one walk around campus we ended up with a new tank that had no filter system despite our two hour adventure. Ones of those things you had to be there for.

Don't get stale! Be safe everyone!

We're not in Kansas anymore...

So I'm back at Stetson after being at home for 2 weeks due to hurricane Frances. No damage at our house to speak of. The only real damage is whats been done to our semester. Our fall break has been taken away and there is talk of extending the semester by a few days. I really don't like that idea. Monday will be the day we officially know what they are going to do.

Our turtles are alive. Somehow the turtles got left here those two weeks without any food and somehow they managed to stay alive. I'm so happy. Dawn and I actually named them, her's is squiggy and mine is donatello....yeah buddy!

I hate the atkins people. I hate this whole low-carb craze that has sweeped the nation. It is driving me insane. I can't go anywhere without seeing low carb this or that. Restaurants have started putting the amount of carbs, calories, and fat each item has in their menus. I think if you are going out to eat, you should indulge and not worry about how many carbs your food has.

My classes are going well. Marine is somewhat boring right now but it should get better once we get into the fish and stuff. Biochem is well Biochem. My drawing class is surprisingly a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to perfecting my drawing technique. And my senior research, well haven't done much with that since this summer but it will get done. It's still hard to believe I will be graduating this year and I still have yet to make a decision on med school or graduate school. But I'm pretty sure I'm taking a year off before I go to either.

I really need to go back to the eye doctor so I can get a new contact prescription because I'm really getting tired of wearing my glasses.

I saw the garden state the other day. It was a pretty good movie...sorta that quirky, indie film appeal.

I think I may already be suffering from senioritis. I'm hoping its just a slow start to the new year.

I already want a vacation again. I think I'm addicted to key west. All I keep thinking about is when I can go back there and what kind of job I can get so I can live down there.

There is this vibrating, humming noise that keeps coming on every hour or so in our room. Funny thing is, I thought is was the people above us playing the tuba at first. However, it is really annoying and I hope it will be rectified in the coming future. Its almost as annoying as our running toliet was last year.

I still have yet to get my pictures developed from the key west trip. I need to get on that.

O, Ian has proclaimed that Sunday is talk like a pirate day...just trying to spread the word.

We had this weird thing growing in our sink. I'm really not sure what it was but is was squishy and blue-greeny looking. I managed to clean it out but I'm curious as to what it is.

I found my snow in a can and I bought these mirror tiles to go around the room. They are really cool.

Mr. Belding from saved by the bell is coming this thursday. How funny is that? Of all the people from that show. Just goes to show you how cheap stetson is.

While I'm on that topic, they moved the ice cream machine back inside the commons so now you have to pay for it. I mean did it really cost them that much to let us indulge in a little free ice cream...I think not. They have to take away our one free joy.

We have free laundry now. Gone our the days of using quarters...Hurrrayyy!

There's an actor who looks like Jude Law and that I always mistake as Jude Law, yet I'm unable to remember his name. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can things get any worse?

So this week is turning out to be one hell of a week. Tuesday afternoon me and my mom were out looking for a new car for me. We were at a red light when a huge suv slammed into the back of us causing us to slam into the car in front of us. The driver of the suv was drunked, completely wasted. I hit my head pretty hard and my back was hurting really bad so they took me to the hospital. The x-rays showed everything was okay, thankfully, but boy am I hurting. Thank goodness for pain pills. I also missed my hoobastank concert last night and boy am I pissed about that.

If that wasn't enough, we have this huge hurricane coming less than 3 weeks after charley. I'm pretty nervous about this one considering our huge oak tree is still stand but looks as though it won't be long before it comes down. All I can do is pray and hope that things will work out and the damage won't be too bad. I hope everyone is safe and we will all make it through this.
